2000….AFTER THE WEATHER!!

In the mid 20’s of August the ‘Weather Gods’ decided to give Iceland, her tourists, rivers and fishers a good kicking. East Ranga increased 50% in volume and coloured, and stayed dirty for some days before the weather finally settled. Absolutely gutting for the team of rods to know that there are lots of salmon in the river but not be able to connect with them as much as they should have. Full marks for perseverance!

Thankfully the river dropped and cleared towards September and the 2000’s fish of the season was landed. A great milestone and with a lot of fish in the river it is reassurance that by the season’s end the river will comfortably surpass the 2024 total catch of 2,202 and possibly also the 2023 total catch of circa 2,602.
